ToMUN conference was born here, in I Liceum Ogólnokszatłcące im. Mikołaja Kopernika. Our school is over 450 years old, what makes it the oldest school in this region and one of the oldest schools in Poland. The building in which it is located nowadays was built in 1855, in the center of the city and the breathtaking old town of Toruń. We have learned to respect history by growing up in the city of culture. Coming to ToMUN, you are due to see how much we appreciate our heritage, with which come years of cooperation with other European cities. For the fifth edition of the conference, within other new ones, we introduce UNESCO committee, as we believe it is crucial to protect our legacy.
Some of the brightest minds have graduated from our school, including Nicolaus Copernicus, who we proudly call a patron to this very day. You can also hear that he was the one that stopped the Sun and moved the Earth with his own hands. His discovery, that shifted the world as we know it, inspires us every day, reminds us that we cannot keep our opinions and ideas to ourselves, pushes us to ameliorate the world - even if by little. Because of that very fact, we included drawings of the solar system in the ToMUN logo. All it takes to make a change is one visionary, one dreamer, one delegate…
